Sunny boy 5000

The new Sunny Boy 5000 Multi-String has lead to perfection the String technology pioneered by SMA. It includes all the well-known advantages of String technology on the highest technical level. SMA's latest product innovation is the ideal inverter for medium and large-scale PV plants. String technology can now also be used for any plant with medium or high power.

The new Multi-String technology enables the operator of a PV plant to combine strings with very different operating data into one single plant without compromising energy yield or planning flexibility. The functioning principle is shown on the block circuit diagram on the right. The Sunny Boy 5000 Multi-String also accommodates differences in PV modules (size, nominal data, thinfilm solar array or crystalline cells), different orientation of modules or shadowing - flexibility that leaves no wish unfulfilled.
